The Annual Sports Trip is one of the most eagerly awaited events in the ABIS calendar, and the 2026 edition did not disappoint. Students from Grade 2, Grade 3, and Grade 4 packed their bags, laced up their sports shoes, and set off on an adventure that blended physical activity with exploration, laughter, and unforgettable shared moments.

Day One — February 13, 2026

With excitement in the early morning air, students gathered in the assembly hall, their bags packed and ready for the journey ahead. The energy was contagious — laughter echoed through the corridors as friends chatted eagerly about the adventures to come. It was undoubtedly a highly anticipated trip, one that everyone had been looking forward to for weeks.

After a thorough headcount and a quick safety briefing from the teachers, the group set off together. The journey itself became part of the experience — singing, storytelling, and plenty of window-gazing as the city gave way to open skies and green landscapes.

"I could not sleep the night before because I was so excited! The trip was even better than I imagined." — Grade 3 Student

Day One activities focused on team challenges and outdoor sports. Students were divided into mixed-grade groups, encouraging older students to lead and younger ones to look up to their peers. Friendly competition brought out the best in everyone — cheering, strategising, and plenty of high-fives along the way.

Day Two — February 14, 2026

Day Two brought fresh energy and new challenges. After a good night's rest and a hearty breakfast together, students returned to the outdoor programme with even more enthusiasm. The activities on the second day were designed to push boundaries gently — building resilience, trust, and communication skills in ways that no classroom lesson can replicate.

Highlights of Day Two

The relay races and team obstacle courses proved to be the crowd favourites, with teachers and students competing side by side in a few light-hearted rounds. The day wrapped up with a shared meal and a reflection circle, where students shared their favourite moments and what they had learned about themselves and their classmates.

Teachers noted remarkable growth in confidence and cooperation over the two days — students who were shy at the start were leading cheers by the end. That transformation is exactly what experiential learning is designed to create.

Why Trips Like This Matter

At ABIS, we believe education extends well beyond the classroom walls. The Annual Sports Trip is a cornerstone of our holistic approach — giving students the chance to apply values like respect, perseverance, and teamwork in real-world situations. Shared experiences like these build the bonds of a true school community and create memories that students carry with them long after they have left school.

A huge thank you to all the teachers and support staff who made this trip possible, and to the parents who trusted us with their children for those two incredible days. We are already looking forward to next year.
