ABIS is a growing international school in Yokohama offering a full British-based curriculum from Early Years through to Grade 12. More than 300 students from age 2 to Grade 12 attend the school, with our High School programme expanding year by year.

Age 2–5 · Early Years
British Early Years Foundation. Full-time, 5-days-a-week enrichment curriculum for children ages 3–5 (from 2 days a week for age 2). Providing quality childcare and education that nurtures non-cognitive skills — communication, emotional maturity, and self-expression — through a global education centred on critical thinking and a spirit of inquiry.

Grade 1–6 · Primary
British National Curriculum. Providing practical, inquiry-based learning through a transdisciplinary system. ABIS's global education programme incorporates British standards alongside international benchmarks, delivered entirely in English by qualified teachers from native and non-native speaking countries.
Core subjects include English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Arts, ICT, and Physical Education.

Grade 7–9 · Middle School
British Key Stage 3. Exploring learning by focusing on deeper and more focused concepts than the primary curriculum. Students continue to make broad connections across subjects, while moving towards more subject-specific learning with specialist teachers.
Students experience an expanded subject range including Languages, Design & Technology, and study abroad opportunities to develop diverse perspectives from a young age.

Grade 10–12 · High School
IGCSE & A-Level. Providing students with the opportunity to extend their learning and make connections across disciplines through internationally recognised British qualifications. ABIS prepares students for university entrance worldwide — nurturing independent thinkers who can contribute meaningfully to a better, more peaceful world.
University guidance and career counselling are provided from Grade 10 onwards.
